Q and A

Alright! I finally got the time to gather all the questions from the previous journal and answer them. I took the liberty of rewording a few questions and adding in my own that I've been asked before or that I feel should be answered in case they're asked in the future.

About me:
-What are you planning on doing after high school?
Well, I'm in an art college right now so I'm doing that currently.
-Do you like tacos? And if not what food do you like?
Yes, I do enjoy tacos. I also like Italian food.
-What's your favorite thing about Monster High and what made you want to do fanart of the series?
I just fell in love with how unique the concept of Monster High is. Fashion dolls that are monsters and have their own unique style? Hell yeah! I grew up with Bratz and Barbie so I love pretty dolls but I also love freaky weird things and punk and goth looks. All that combined is pretty much Monster High so it's perfect for me. I really wanted to draw the canon characters and then make up characters of my own, which got the fanart going.
-What do you see yourself doing 4 or 5years from now?
I want to graduate from college and then find a job where I can use my art skills daily.
-If you could go back in time and tell your past self anything, what would it be?
Stop being so damn shy! Speak up!
-What do you see yourself doing in the future as a career?
Working for Disney, or some other animation company. I hope.
-What is your favorite movie genre?
There's not really a set genre I like. It really all depends on the movie itself. I do like action and comedy movies, and romance if it's not too over the top.

About my art:
-What kind of brushes do you use on your doll repaints?
Basic paint brushes. You can buy them at any craft store.
-Do you sew the outfits for your custom dolls?
Sometimes. It depends on what the article of clothing is. Sometimes I'll use old doll clothes I have but sometimes I'll have to sew them myself.
-Where do you find inspiration for your characters and their designs?
I'm not really sure. I just get inspiration from random things, like music, stories and jokes between my friends and I, outfits I'll see on tv or in real life. I don't know. I just mush together things I like mostly.
-What's your artistic process and tools you use?
I mostly color digitally and for that I use photoshop. I'll draw the sketch on a piece of paper and scan it in then use photoshop for lineart and coloring. I almost always use body models when sketching out characters. It helps me a lot with getting the anatomy right.
-Do you use a drawing tablet?
Yes I do. I have a Wacom Intuos 4. His name is Toby.
-What program do you use for drawing?
Photoshop.
-How long does it take for you to draw something?
It depends on what it is. If it's a single character just standing there it doesn't take that long. Maybe an hour or so from sketch to finish. If it's more than one character or something detailed then it'll go longer than that.
-What did you use for your doll's hair?
I use doll wigs or if I'm rerooting I order hair from dollyhair.com.
-What was the 1st thing you ever drew and what inspired you to draw it?
I can't remember the first thing I drew EVER. That's too long ago. XD But I love Disney and other cartoons and I wanted to draw them and make comics and cartoons myself.
-Will you be making bases of your work?
I will not. I don't feel comfortable having others use my less than perfect art as a template.
-Will you make tutorials?
I'm not confident enough in my art process to share it with others in a tutorial. I do what works for me, and others should find their own procedure too.

About my characters:
-What inspired you to make a daughter of Father Time (Centura)?
I wanted to be different. At the time I hadn't seen any Father Time kids and thought I could give it a shot. I wasn't sure exactly if Father Time counted as a monster and for the longest time the sketch of Centura just sat around because I didn't know what to do with her. After seeing GothicKitta's Justin Time, I figured it was safe to post Centura.
-Will Bo ever find the heart to be friends with Hedward again?
She will, in time.
-What made you come up with your Monster High OCs?
I don't know exactly. I just picked monsters that I liked and hadn't seen done for parents and then worked from there.
-Are you ever going to write more Diana and Alex stories?
I don't know. Probably not. I revamped their characters so maybe if I get the time and inspiration I can start their story over.
-Who is your favorite character in any of your series and why?
Oh, I can't pick just one. They're all my babies. I'll get in a mood where I really like one character and will draw them a lot and then it starts again with another character.
-Who are your favorite couples?
I like all of my OC couples. If I had to pick I suppose I would say ScottxRyan and DianaxAlex.
-Will Marcus ever find love?

Permission usage:
-Can I draw your character?
Of course! I love getting fanart!
-Do I have to ask you permission to draw your character?
Not usually. I, for one, love surprise gift art and I see no problem in it if you're simply drawing the character by itself. I do ask that you give me credit for the character and send me a link when the drawing's done so I can see it. And please keep in mind the character's personality if you're going to set them up in a certain situation. I don't like it when people get my characters out of character.
-Can I add your character into a story/comic I'm doing?
This one's iffy. You'll have to tell me what exactly my character will be doing and how they will be portrayed. Like I said before, I don't like it when people write my characters out of character, so if I feel that I don't know you well enough to feel comfortable with you manipulating my characters than it would probably be a no. But just explain everything to me and it should be okay.
-Can I use your art as a base?
NO.
-Can I use your art as a reference?
It depends. Ask me first.
-Can I post your art on other websites?
I would REALLY rather you didn't. But if you must, PLEASE credit me for the artwork.
